With synthetic oil, usually every 6-8 months or 8,000 miles or so. Longer in the winter, as I don’t drive much, and I really hate due oil changes in the snow and ice. You inevitably spill hot oil everywhere, especially on my old Ford Ranger when you pulled the filter, and oil splashed over the front differential — which melts the snow and ice and makes a mess.
I usually just change it on my Chevy Silverado when the oil life display gets down to around 20% or so — which is about in that range of 6-8k or 8,00 miles. On my old Ford Ranger, I would change it every 3-4 months and 3-4k, because I found synthetic oil wasn’t worth it when you were burning a quart to 1 1/2 of oil every 3,000 miles or so.
