The 4×4 Podcast guests on the GeoGearHeads Podcast

Posted by on October 21, 2012

This last week I had the outstanding opportunity to be a guest host on the GeoGearHeads podcast. GeoGearHeads is a show all about geocaching gear but this particular episode I was asked to come on and talk about all the offroading gear that would help someone get out into the backcountry in their offroad vehicle.

To check out the full show notes, head over to http://cacheamaniacs.com/ggh-beta-42-gear-your-ohv and check them out!

We’re joined by jeepin_idaho of the 4×4 Podcast to talk about gear for Geocachers and their Off-Highway Vehicles. He a couple of posts — “Goal Zero Guide 10 Plus Adventure Kit” and “Ram Mount for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Installation” — from his podcast site. Some of the products he suggested were the dual battery kits, gravity water filters, Reliance Aqua-Tainer, Chuck Box, Fun Treks guides, and EveryTrail.
We heard from TheWinterTrio again about using the GPSR for Munzees. We talked a little about that and the three GSAK macros for bringing in Munzees; “MyMunzeesCSV,” “MyMunzeesV3CSV,” and “WGETmunzeecaps.”
Perhaps the most interesting mention in this episode was about a new set of giveaways we kicked off as of this recording. Thanks to Magellan, listeners all over the world have the chance to win an eXplorist GC. Brand 44 Colorado was also kind enough to provide a Geomate.jr with Update Kit, Geomate Large Log Cache, and a Geomate Gnome Cache for those within North America. Along with those four awesome gifts, the hosts of the GeoGearHeads will be pitching in a few items themselves to be given away through a drawing on Episode Beta.48 (November 29, 2012) (details available here).
