The North American International Auto Show takes place every year in Detroit. The show is the first of the big auto shows coming in the next few months. This year there is more big news expected from nearly every automaker than has been announced in the last few years. It’s a very exciting time to see what is coming for the truck and offroading segment here’s a list of some of the rumored announcements to come next week:
Toyota – Leaked images of the “all new” Toyota Tacoma have recently leaked out. From what I can see, the front end and bed have been redesigned bit the can section is largely unchanged. That’s not to say that maybe Toyota isn’t also moving towards aluminum body and high strength steel chassis. Also, no news yet on power train but all new means ALL NEW, right?
Nissan – The Titan is expected to see a dramatic update as well. The segment the Titan is competing in is extremely competitive and rapidly changing. I’m excited to see the new Titan and their diesel engine options.
Ford – The F-150 has already seen updates recently but the Super Duty line is due for updates as well as the Raptor. I expect to hear lots of aluminum talk with the Raptor so they can put their standard F-150 experience to good use.
Ram/Fiat Auto – I’ve heard some internet rumors of a smaller Ram truck but I think we might instead see a Jeep truck. Wouldn’t out be nice to see a Comanche or Gladiator on the show floor?! I can hope, can’t I?!
GM – I don’t expect much from GM this time around. The Colorado ZR2 concept has been leaked so maybe we’ll get a better look at that idea.
